Westies are descended from the Caim Terrier, They usually weigh between 5 and 10 kilos. They need moderate exercise. Thanks to their small size they can live in apartments and small flats. It is a dog that usually warns, making it an excellent alarm dog, they respond well to affection but you have to discipline them from a young age, it is often said that they are large dogs in small bodies because they do not care who they can face to defend what they consider to be their property. As in all dogs, hygiene is important but these being white we must be more careful, it is advisable to clean them with a wet wipe after they relieve themselves because they could get yellowish hairs on their legs...

The West Highland White terrier is a breed of dog that originated in the Western Highlands of Scotland. In fact, the literal translation of his name is Western Highland White Terrier. It is a dog known for its personality and bright white color. Admirers of this breed often call it a Westie. He is friendly and balanced, as long as he is adequately socialized. Like most terriers they are energetic and courageous by nature. Westies descend from the Cairn Terrier, and it seems that the origin of the breed is in the selection of white specimens for hunting use, since some hunters considered it useful to have white pack dogs, they were mockingly called white caims Colonel Edward Donald Malcolm is considered the main promoter of this breed, who counted among his greatest hobbies hunting rabbits. The Malcoms were the wonderful and brave family that dedicated themselves to raising this beautiful breed that are the Westies.
